Due to coronavirus restrictions passenger numbers are being limited to allow for 2-metre social distancing, providing plenty of space to relax and enjoy the views onboard the spacious electric boat Wiggonholt.

It is hoped to add Saturday trips and special cream tea voyages after June 21 when guidelines allow. Bookings can be made via the Trust’s website, www.weyandarun.co.uk.

Bank holiday Monday will also see special trips offered onboard the nine-seater Josias Jessop boat, especially for family groups.

The 30-minute trips will run throughout the day from 11 am to 4 pm, with no need to book ahead. The Trust’s visitor centre will also be open.

Chairman Sally Schupke said the trips onboard Josias Jessop would be a great way to enjoy the beauty of the canal.
