Breakfast with Santa launches Anderton Christmas cruises

TWO magical mornings of ‘Breakfast with Santa’ on Saturday November 30 and Sunday December 1 will launch this year’s famous Santa Cruises at Cheshire’s Anderton Boat Lift.

The 9am breakfast with Santa and his helper in the Lift-view Coffee Shop will be followed by Santa leading the festive group down to the base of the giant Lift for a magical Santa Cruise. Tickets for this exclusive experience will be £13 per child (including a gift) and £12.50 for adults. All of which can be booked at

The festive Santa breakfast will comprise of sausage, egg and beans on toast with a soft drink for children and a Full English breakfast with a hot drink for adults. There is an option to select vegetarian and gluten-free breakfasts when booking.


The magical Santa Cruise, a treat for both children and adults, is the ultimate experience for festive family fun with games, songs and stories with Santa. Each child will meet Santa and receive a gift that has been specially picked by him. The site also has a large lift-themed play area which is always a hit with the site’s youngest visitors.

The Anderton Boat Lift’s famous festive Santa Cruises take place every weekend from Saturday November 30 until the weekend of Saturday and Sunday December 21-22, as well as on Monday December 23 and Christmas Eve on Tuesday December 24 at various times throughout the day, (see for more information). For those who pre-book for the Santa Cruises, the Lift is offering an attractive ‘Festive Food Deal’. Adults can pick from a variety of options including a turkey, stuffing and cranberry or bacon and brie panini for £6.50, Christmas burger with fries and side salad for £7.50 or Santa’s Breakfast (Full English) for £5.95. All children’s meals cost £4.00 except for the Elf Breakfast (a small version of a Full English) which is £3.50. In the Lift’s shop, gifts are hand-picked by Santa’s elves, with the aim of making sure that everyone can find a present for someone. Gifts include retro toys, a large range of books and stocking fillers. As one of the country’s leading canal attractions, the glittering shop also stocks presents that would suit anyone who loves waterways and the countryside.
