Volunteers sought for St Richard’s Festival

WORCESTER Birmingham & Droitwich Canals Society is seeking volunteers for the St Richard’s Festival at Droitwich over the early May bank holiday weekend.

Assembly days start on Wednesday April 26 until Friday April 28 and the following Tuesday (May 2). Helpers are needed from 9am to evening time to help construct the event, or take down.

The event days are Friday evening, Saturday, Sunday and Monday to teatime. Numbers of helpers needed and the tasks involved are outlined below:

6-7am Take down security fencing erect hired gazebos. (4)

7-9.45am,Marshall traffic and escort to pitches. (8)

10am-5pm Supervise the open event. (4)

5-6pm Escort traffic off site, take down rented gazebos.(4)

6-10pm monitor litter, toilets etc. (2)

10-11.30pm Re-place all security fencing. (4)

Four van drivers (two per van) aged between 26 to 69 who are comfortable driving a large van are also needed. They will need to present their driving licences when booking the vehicle.
