Tideway adventures with St Pancras Cruising Club

BOATERS are invited to join St Pancras Cruising Club’s tideway adventures in 2017 starting with the 13th annual boat show cruise in early January.

Scheduled to take place from Thursday January 5 to Monday January 9, with the help of the Canal & River Trust, moorings will be in Dollar Bay, West India Dock. Visiting boaters are welcome to join the cruise.

The club’s annual tideway cruise for visiting boaters is scheduled for Saturday May. Boats will depart Limehouse Lock, and heading downstream on the ebb tide, will pass through the Barrier, continuing to Margaretness.

On the first of the flood tide, boats will return through the Barrier and continue upstream to Brentford and Teddington.

Registration forms and additional information, for both cruises, are available from Andrew Phasey at theoldmainline@fastmail.fm or 07850 753 633.

The festival celebrating the reopening of Carpenters Road Lock at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park will take place over the late May Bank Holiday weekend on Saturday and Sunday May 27-28.

The lock will be re-opened, allowing the first boats through for forty years. The key event will be the bankside festival being organised by Canal & River Trust and more information can be seen on its website at www.canalrivertrust.org.uk

Expressions of interest in joining the cruise can be registered at: waterways@londonlegacy.co.uk
