Leeds & Liverpool Canal: Bridge 197A, Granby Swing Bridge
ADVICE (1.45-3pm Sunday 30 April 2017) Please be advised that the Tour de Yorkshire Cycle Race will be crossing the Leeds Liverpool Canal between 1.45 and 2.30pm on Sunday April 30 at Bridge 197a, Granby Swing Bridge.
The bridge will be held in the open position for vehicular traffic for approximately 20 minutes to allow cyclist through.
Tees Navigation: River Tees
Update on 28/04/2017: CRT have been advised by the Environment Agency that the nesting wildlife at Yarm Bridge will have left the area by early to mid-May. Canal & River Trust are now planning a date with the Environment Agency to clear the remaining debris at Yarm Jetty. Subject to wildlife vacating the site this work will go-ahead on the 11th May.
CRT are also planning a further date with the Environment Agency to remove the remaining debris from Yarm Bridge. Again, this will be subject to wildlife vacating the site, a date for this is yet to be confirmed.
Debris clearance work on the North shore by the Water Sports Centre is planned for the 10th May. Stockton Borough Council will be assisting with this work.
Coventry Canal: Bridge 91, New Bridge
RESTRICTION (4.30pm Thursday 27 April 2017 until further notice) Please be advised that a cruiser style boat has sunk on the Fradley Village side of Bridge 91.
The boat has been marked with warning tape and signs have been put out but caution should be taken and boat traffic should stay to the centre of the channel
The boat is due to be removed soon.
River Witham: Lock 4, Boston Lock

Aylesbury Arm (Grand Union Canal): Lock 11 Ends At: Lock 10
Update on 27/04/2017: Works have been completed and navigation re-opened.
Huddersfield Narrow Canal: Lock 21 West
Update on 27/04/2017: Canal & River Trust and contractors have managed to carry out repairs to both ground paddles on Lock 21W, and the blockages within the paddle chamber have now been cleared.
Gloucester & Sharpness Canal: Llanthony Quay
ADVICE (10.15am Wednesday 26 April 2017 until further notice) Please be advised that the pump out facility at Llanthony Quay is currently broken and unable to be used. The facility will be repaired and reopened as soon as possible. In the meantime pump out facilities are available at Saul Junction and Purton.

Kennet & Avon Canal: Elsan, Lock 78, Kintbury Lock
ADVICE (9am Wednesday 26 April until 6pm Thursday 27 April 2017) The pump out and Elsan disposal point are out of order, due to a blocked waste pipe.
A specialist drainage contractor is required to carry out the clearance.
The clearance is planned for Thursday 27th April.
Please use the next available facilities at Great Bedwyn to the West, and Aldermaston to the East.
Huddersfield Narrow Canal: Lock 15 East, Golcar Brook Lock
RESTRICTION (3.30pm Thursday 20 April 2017 until further notice) There is a stone protruding into the lock chamber on the offside at lock 15E.
Engineers have carried out an assessment and are currently preparing a plan for the works.
In the meantime please take care when passing through the lock and keep the boat to the towpath side.
Gloucester & Sharpness Canal: Saul Sanitary Station

ADVICE (Wednesday 19 April 2017 until further notice) Please be aware that the washing machine at Saul Junction sanitary station has developed a fault and has been removed to enable it to be repaired it will be returned as soon as possible.
Aire & Calder Navigation Main Line: 50m downstream (approx) Leeds Lock
ADVICE (10.15am Tuesday 18 April 2017 until further notice) The police underwater search unit are carrying out an underwater exercise approximately 50m downstream of Leeds Lock. The exercise includes the use of underwater scanning equipment and diving operations.
Skippers of all craft should slow down and approach the area with caution and be prepared to follow any instructions given by the police search unit. Short delays may be necessary to allow the search team to remove equipment and divers to a safe location.
Kennet & Avon Canal: Bridge 158, Newton Swingbridge
ADVICE (2pm Monday 17 April 2017 until further notice) Due to damage, Newton Swingbridge (Bridge 158) is currently being left in the canal open position.
Please pass with care, and do not attempt to close the bridge.
Aire & Calder Navigation Main Line: Lock 4, Fishpond Lock
ADVICE (4pm Thursday 13 April 2017 until further notice) Please allow extra time for the lock to level off when penning up at Fishpond Lock. You should allow 20 minutes after the lock level light has come on. If the gates won’t open after 20 minutes, please empty the lock and repeat the whole process again.
If the gates still won’t open please call 0800 4799947 for assistance.
Kennet & Avon Canal: Lock 19. Seend Lock
ADVICE (5pm Wednesday 12 April until 5pm Wednesday 31 May 2017) Due to narrowing of the lock there is restricted space between the bottom gates. Craft should enter and exit the lock one boat at a time.
Kennet & Avon Canal: Water Point, Swineford Ends At: Sanitary Station, Swineford Lock
Update on 13/04/2017: Unfortunately Wessex Water have not been able to undertake the planned repairs to the Elsan point this morning. They intend to return to the site on Monday 17th April.
Update on 12/04/2017: Wessex Water maintain this facility and have successfully repaired the water point.
They are due to service the Elsan facilities tomorrow morning, Thursday 13th April. The Elsan should be useable again by noon.
Kennet & Avon Canal: Bridge 99, New Crown Estate
ADVICE (5pm Tuesday 11 April until 6pm Tuesday 23 May 2017) As part of the repairs to Bridge 99 parapets, scaffolding has been erected on both the east and west faces of the bridge.
Headroom has been reduced to 3m air draft at normal water levels.
Craft should proceed through the bridge in single file and at a reduced speed.
Worcester & Birmingham Canal: Bridge 64
ADVICE (10am Monday 10 April until 8pm Friday 5 May 2017) Please be aware that Greenford Limited will be undertaking works to support the offside canal bank 45m North of Bridge 64, Callow Hill Road, Alvechurch.
This will involve piling and installation of gabion baskets, but as access will be from the bank, CRT expect disruption to canal traffic to be minimal and the towpath unaffected.
All craft should navigate with care in the area and listen out for advice or information from contractors on site.
Chesterfield Canal: Bridge 69, Clayworth Greys Bridge
TOWPATH CLOSURE (8am Monday 10 April until 11.45pm Wednesday 3 May 2017) Following a vehicle bridge strike to Clayworth Grays Bridge, repairs to the parapet are being undertaken over the next few weeks.
The towpath on the bridge underwalk will need to be closed to enable the access scaffold to be safely installed and ensure the safety of the public within the vicinity of the worksite.
Tees Navigation: River Tees
Update on 07/04/2017: Clearance work is progressing well. Debris by the barrage and Stockton area has now been removed.
There is still an amount of debris to be removed from Yarm Bridge, clearance work here will be restricted due to nesting wildlife.
Skippers of all craft are asked to take extra care when passing Yarm Bridge. There is also still the possibility of smaller sections of debris at isolated sections of the river.
Work continues to remove all reaming debris.
Calder & Hebble Navigation: Lock 18, Shepley
Update on 06/04/2017: One of the ground paddles is now operational and repair work is being carried out on the other paddle.
Please continue to operate the lock with caution.
Aylesbury Arm (Grand Union Canal): Bridge 15
Update on 06/04/2017: The road will be closed until further notice. CRT are aware of the effect the closure will have on the local community and are committed to getting the road re-opened as soon as possible. Please refer to diversion route signage.
Tame Valley Canal: Holloway Bank Basin Bridge
Update on 05/04/2017: Due to the discovery of a leak on the gas pipe, repair works are now being undertaken before the paintworks can be completed. This means that the scaffolding will now be in place until the end of April.
Wakefield Branch (Aire & Calder Navigation): Sanitary Station, Ramsdens Swing Bridge
Update on 03/04/2017: Refurbishment of the Gents shower area at Ramsdens Bridge customer services, CRT have been further informed by its contractor that the delivery of the materials needed to conclude the works is taking longer than expected and that the works to refurbish the Gents shower area will be completed as soon as these are available.
They are working closely with the contractor to ensure that this area of the facilities is available for use as soon as possible.
Again, all other services within the services will remain open throughout the period of works and the ladies shower area should be used on a unisex basis throughout. Should customers prefer, a chaperone system can be used during this time.
Northampton Arm (Grand Union Canal): Northampton Arm, Grand Union Canal
NAVIGATION CLOSURE (11.15am Sunday 2 April 2017 until further notice) Due to the investigation and management of a pollution incident on the Northampton Arm, it will be closed until further notice.
The closure starts from the junction connecting to the Grand Union mainline and ends at Lock 17, Northampton Arm. Locks 1, 17 and the junction have been locked.
Erewash Canal: Lock 66 Hallam Fields Lock Ends At: Lock 65 – Stanton
RESTRICTION (Friday 31 March 2017 until further notice) Due to misuse, the water level has dropped between Hallam Fields Lock and Stanton Lock. We are working to get the water level back to normal as quickly as possible.
Worcester & Birmingham Canal: Diglis New Sanitary Station
ADVICE (3pm Thursday 30 March 2017 until further notice) The pump assembly at this site has been declared beyond repair and will need to be replaced. CRT are progressing the matter with a contractor but expect the facility to be closed for some weeks, whilst the parts are sourced and arrangements made.
Aylesbury Arm (Grand Union Canal): Bridge 15
NAVIGATION CLOSURE (10.30am Thursday 30 March 2017 until further notice) Due to a vehicle collision with the bridge parapet CRT have had to close the navigation until the bridge can be assessed by the local engineers.
Droitwich Barge Canal: Barge Lock
ADVICE (8am Thursday 30 March until 8pm Thursday 4 May 2017) Severn Trent Water will be working in Vines Park between the 27th March and the 4th May 2017 to rebuild an outfall chamber there.
CRT expect impact on our customers both on and off the water to be minimal, but ask canal traffic to approach the area with caution and to please listen out for any advice from contractors or staff.
Leeds & Liverpool Canal: Lock 67, Lock 3

Update on 30/03/2017: Navigation is now available on the Wigan Flight. However, please be advised that a tailgate paddle at Lock 67 is not in use. This may result in delays in filling the lock. A replacement is currently being fabricated and this will be fitted over the weekend.
Rochdale Canal: Bridge 12, Redacre Road Bridge
TOWPATH CLOSURE (2.15pm Wednesday 29 March until 5pm Friday 21 April 2017) Canal & River Trust in partnership with Calderdale Council will be carrying out improvement works to our canal walls, These works will provide a significant improvement to the wash walls and is the first step to improve our towpath between Sowerby Bridge and Todmorden.
The Towpath is expected to be closed for 3 weeks as we undertake important repairs to the wash walls in readiness for the towpath improvement works in the summer.
Rochdale Canal: Bridge 9, Moderna Bridge Ends At: Bridge 10, Pissmire Road Bridge
TOWPATH CLOSURE (2pm Wednesday 29 March until 5pm Friday 21 April 2017) Canal & River Trust in partnership with Calderdale Council will be carrying out improvement works to our canal walls, These works will provide a significant improvement to the wash walls and is the first step to improve our towpath between Sowerby Bridge and Todmorden.
This section of towpath will be closed while our contractors use floating plant and piling teams are on site.
Rochdale Canal: Station Rd Bridge Ends At: Bridge 8, Brearley Road Bridge
TOWPATH CLOSURE (1.45pmWednesday 29 March until 5pm Wednesday 5 April 2017) Canal & River Trust in partnership with Calderdale Council will be carrying out improvement works to our canal walls, These works will provide a significant improvement to the wash walls and is the first step to improve our towpath between Sowerby Bridge and Todmorden.
While these works are completed we will have the towpath closed.
Tame Valley Canal: Brickfields Bridge Ends At: Scott Bridge
Update on 29/03/2017: This towpath closure has been extended until 7th April 2017.
Towpath resurfacing works are to be undertaken and the towpath will be closed to ensure the safety of the public.
These works are part of the wider Sandwell LGF Towpath Resurfacing Project – further lengths of the Tame Valley Canal towpath will be closed subsequently for resurfacing.
Huddersfield Narrow Canal: Lock 29 East Ends At: Lock 28 East
Update on 28/03/2017: Contractors, Kier, have started works on site and expect to be complete by 7th April.
The locks are passable with caution and by following the instructions of the contractors on site.
New Mainline: Access Point
ADVICE (Monday 27 March until Friday 14 July 2017) Network Rail are undertaking repair works to the railway bridge adjacent to the aqueduct. This entails the erection of scaffolding, part of which will be on the access ramp to the North Towpath. The access will therefore be closed for the duration of the works.
River Severn Navigation: Upper Lode Lock Ends At: Lock 5 Diglis (Small)
NAVIGATION CLOSURE (1.15pm Friday 24 March 2017 until further notice) Please be advised that the River Severn is currently closed between the bottom gates of Upperlode Lock and the bottom gates of Diglis Lock due to high water levels.
Trent & Mersey Canal: Near Stenson Marina
ADVICE (Friday 24 March 2017 until further notice) CRT have been made aware of unauthorised third party works near Stensons Marina. Its engineers will address this issue but in the meantime, boaters are asked to take care when passing this location.

Update on 24/03/2017: Due to some issues with this City of Wolverhampton Council (CWC) project CRT regret to announce that the canal will not reopen on 31st March as originally planned. The canal is due to reopen on Saturday 27th May 2017 @ 8am, however CRT is working with CWC to see if this date can be brought forward. Should you suffer a direct financial loss as a result of this extended stoppage please forward the details to CRT enquiries West Midlands email address and they will take it up on your behalf with CWC.
River Stort: Lock 14, Brick Lock
Up Stream Winding Hole: North of Bridge 5, Stort Navigation
Down Stream Winding Hole: Entrance to Roydon Mill Marina
Update on 23/03/2017: Brick Lock (Lock 14) on the River Stort has been closed since 4 January for a reconstruction of the chamber wall. This has not been going as smoothly as planned. The wall that CRT are replacing was not constructed as anticipated and much more had to be removed. This then uncovered issues with the foundations and they have had to re-design our solution in response to these factors.
The team is working 7 days a week to re-open the navigation but the works will not now be complete until May.
CRT appreciate that this delay risks considerable inconvenience to some boaters and that there are many who planned to attend the IWA Canalway Cavalcade (https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/notice/10087/iwa-canalway-cavalcade-2017-little-venice-paddington-arm). Therefore, there will be a limited opening of the lock over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend (14 to 17 April).
All boats that wish to pass should contact (firstname.lastname@example.org, 0303 040 4040) and CRT will put together a timetable that will be published on 10 April.
To be included in this, they will need to hear from you by 5pm on Friday 7 April. Please let them know:

This limited opening of the lock over the Easter weekend will mean that the works will be delayed by one day and the lock will re-open now on 2 May.
Mooring suspension: Towpath mooring on both sides of the lock will be suspended to facilitate these boat movements. Please see local signs and do not moor here if you are not booked to use the lock.
Droitwich Junction Canal: Bridge 4, M5 Turnover Bridge
ADVICE (4pm Monday 20 March 2017 until further notice) Please be aware that the Low Headroom Warning sign is currently missing from the eastern side (Junction side) of the M5 Tunnel due to vandalism.
The Trust are working hard to source a replacement but in the meantime asks customer to be aware of the low headroom.
Nottingham & Beeston Canal: Meadow Lane -CSF
ADVICE (12.30pm Sunday 19 March 2017 until further notice) CRT have to advise of the closure of Meadow Lane CSF, due vandalism of the facility.
The CSF will be closed until further notice.
Leicester Line (Grand Union Canal): Bridge 55 Ends At: Bridge 56, Morton’s Bridge
NAVIGATION CLOSURE (1pm Friday 17 March 2017 until further notice) Please be advised that a tree from the offside has fallen between bridge 55 and Bridge 56 Leicester Line which is blocking the navigation and towpath
CRT have instructed contractors to attend site to clear the tree.
Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal: Lock 15 Rocky Lock
ADVICE (12.30pm Thursday 16 March 2017 until further notice) A collapsed culvert, near to the bottom gates of the Rocky lock, has restricted the towpath width. The towpath is still open, but please aware and exercise caution when passing the fence surrounding the hole.
Chesterfield Canal: Lock 38, Turnerwood Feeder Lock Ends At: Lock 37, Turnerwood Bottom Lock
Up Stream Winding Hole: Thorpe winding hole, above Lock 20

Update on 16/03/2017: Due to additional works identified during the current stoppage, CRT are taking the opportunity to undertake repairs whilst the lock remains de-watered. As a result the stoppage will be extended until 08:00hrs Wednesday 22nd March 2017, to complete these additional works.
Gloucester & Sharpness Canal: Sharpness Port including the Low and High level bridges

River Severn Navigation: Lock 9 Lincomb Lock Ends At: Lock 2 Gloucester Lock
Update on 10/03/2017: Please be advised that the River Severn is now open from the North of Upperlode Lock to Lincomb Lock.
The south of Upperlode Lock to Gloucester Lock remains closed.
Oxford Canal/Rugby Arm: Intersection of: Bridge 58, Masters Bridge to Bridge 58, Masters Bridge on Oxford Canal and Bridge 58A, Bell & Barge Bridge to Bridge 58A, Bell & Barge Bridge on Rugby Arm (Oxford Canal)
Update on 10/03/2017: The original works have had to start later than originally planned, so this will result in the towpath being shut until later in the year. CRT have also managed to increase the amount of works they are doing in the area, to now also include repairs and improvements to the access steps at Old Leicester Road Aqueduct.
There will be no mooring available in this area during the works. The canal will be open to navigation.
There is a suggested towpath diversion and a map will be displayed at each end of the towpath closure.
Oxford Canal: Lock 41, Shipton Lock
ADVICE (1.30pm Thursday 9 March 2017 until further notice) Please be advised the lock gates at Shipton Lock 41 on the Oxford Canal have become difficult to operate. This is due to damage to the cill on the bottom gate.
Repairs are being planned to take place as soon as possible.

Gloucester & Sharpness Canal: Culvert 2A, Royal Drift Ends At: Culvert 3-Cambridge Arm
ADVICE (8am Wednesday 8 March until 5pm Friday 24 March 2017) Please be advised that dredging is being carried out on the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal between Cambridge Arms Bridge and the confluence with the River Cam. The dredgings are being used to backfill piling on the tow path side between Patch Bridge and Purton and to raise the off-side bank where appropriate.
The navigation and towpath remain fully open though boaters may incur short delays up to a maximum of half an hour.
Please pass with care and follow the instructions of the staff on site.
Rochdale Canal: Lock 9, Blackpit Hebden Bridge
Update on 08/03/2017: CRT contractors have been delayed with completing the works here, and have confirmed that the lock will be back open tomorrow, 9th March.
Whilst the works are completed, the water level in the area may drop temporarily, which they will work to resolve as soon as possible.

River Stort: Lock 14, Brick Lock

Bridgwater & Taunton Canal: Bridge 9, Crossways Swingbridge Ends At: Bridge 12, Huntworth
ADVICE (8am Monday 6 March until 5pm Friday 31 March 2017) Environment Agency contractors will be removing silt from the watercourse which runs adjacent to the Bridgwater & Taunton Canal in Huntworth, Somerset. The silt removal is part of the wider flood risk management programme.
The towpath will be open but with managed restrictions to enable the works to be carried out safely.
The canal navigation will be open and remains unaffected by the works.
Trent & Mersey Canal: Bridge 91, Brassworks Bridge
Ends At: Bridge 92, Andre Mills Bridge
TOWPATH CLOSURE (8am Monday 6 March until 5pm Friday 24 March 2017) Contractors Amey are working on behalf of Staffordshire County Council to improve The National Cycle Network 5 on the Trent & Mersey Canal around Stone.
They are investing £200k of the Councils capital programme into the works, and will be renewing the towpath surface between Bridge 90-95. The work will also include some minor bank protection works in the area.
These follow £500k of works undertaken previously from Medford to Barlaston. The overall aim is to eventually complete the section between Stone and Meaford to link Stoke to Stone.
River Severn Navigation: Diglis Wharf – L7 Mooring
Update on 06/03/2017: The pontoon is now floating again but needs to be inspected by Engineers and may require some repairs prior to use.
Please continue to stay clear for the time being.
South Stratford Canal: Lock 42 Ends At: Lock 51

Update on 03/03/2017: Following the failed waterway wall below Lock 42 a team is mobilising to undertake repair works and re-water the canal as a matter of urgency

Rochdale Canal: Lock 41 Ends At: Lock 40, Punchbowl
NAVIGATION CLOSURE (Wednesday 1 March 2017 16:00 until further notice) The canal is currently closed between locks 41 and 40 on the Rochdale canal due to a hole appearing in the bed of the canal.
Nottingham & Beeston Canal: Lock 5 – Beeston Lock
ADVICE (Wednesday 1 March 2017 until further notice) Due to unexpected damage in the shower block at Beeston, CRT have had to close them until further notice.
They are working to have the problem fixed as quickly as possible.
River Trent: Lock 8, Holme Lock
ADVICE (Tuesday 28 February 2017 until further notice) Due to the recent storm, the traffic lights at Holme Lock have been badly damaged. CRT have made them safe and are working to have them fixed as quickly as possible.
Huddersfield Narrow Canal: Lock 21 West Ends At: Lock 22 West
Update on 27/02/2017: CRT have started work repairing the wash wall that was damaged during the flooding before Christmas. The extent of the work required has been found to be much more than originally thought and it is now clear that in order to complete the repair to the wall the work will need to carry on past the originally planned completion date. CRT now expect the work to be completed by the end of March.
River Witham: Boston Lock – CSF
ADVICE (Monday 20 February 2017 until further notice) Due to some unexpected maintenance issues, CRT have had to temporarily close Boston showers.

Avon Navigation: Tewkesbury Reach
WARNING (until further notice)
The Environment Agency (EA) is continuing major works on Abbey Mill Sluice. To achieve this they are to vary water levels with a reduction of the water level on the Tewkesbury Reach to 9.5m AOD.
This is a reduction of 0.13m (5.2 inches) below the minimum level (Summer Level) of 9.63m AOD.
Moored Boats should ensure their lines are slack enough to
accommodate this reduction and are moored in deep water.
Boats on the move should take care, especially exiting Stensham
Lock, when navigating in shallow areas and when near Stanchard
Pit due to high water flow through the sluice.

Regent’s Canal/Hertford Union Canal: Intersection of: Bridge 54A, Over Hertford Union to Bridge 54A, Over Hertford Union on Regent’s Canal and Bridge 4, Gunmakers Lane Bridge to Bridge 4, Gunmakers Lane Bridge on Hertford Union Canal
Update on 14/02/2017: Demolition and construction works at Bow Wharf have seen the towpath closed where the Hertford Union Canal meets the Regent’s Canal.
This work is behind schedule and there has been a delay in getting the power cables in the towpath connected. This diversion will therefore be extended until July 7, 2017 at the latest, but we hope it will open earlier.
There are signs directing pedestrians and cyclists to leave the towpath and to use Wennington Road and Wennington Green if they wish to move between these waterways. A further option would be to take routes through Victoria Park.
Dudley Tunnel Branch: Water Point, Black Country Museum
ADVICE (1pm Thursday 9 February 2017 until further notice) Unfortunately, the pump out is out of order until further notice.
The nearest pump out from Black Country Museum is at Ocker Hill.
Lee Navigation: Sanitary Station, Old Ford Lock
ADVICE (9am Thursday 9 February 2017 until further notice) The Customer Service Facilities at Old Ford on the Lee Navigation have suffered considerable vandalism and are closed. CRT are refitting and will re-open very soon.
Trent & Mersey Canal: Bridge 34, Branston Road Bridge
RESTRICTION (8am Thursday 2 February until Friday 2 June 2017) CLM Contractors on behalf of Amey are continuing to install the new bridge over the Trent & Mersey Canal. In order to successfully complete the works, they now require boats within the navigation to assist with the works. This means that the navigation will be temporarily restricted to single traffic under the new bridge.
The towpath & navigation will remain open although short delays may be encountered during the lifts. Banksman and signage will be present to safely manage members of the public and canal traffic during the works.
Sheffield & South Yorkshire Navigations: Eastwood Mooring Basin
ADVICE (10am Wednesday 1 February 2017 until further notice) Can all skippers please be aware that there is a sunken boat in the offline mooring area at the top side of Eastwood Lock.
Please take extra care in this area until it is removed.
Lancaster Canal: Bridge 170, Bridge End Bridge Ends At: Bridge 172, Stainton Crossing Bridge

Update on 10/01/2017: Works being undertaken by the Bridgewater Canal Company to Vicars Hall Bridge have been delayed and are expected to be completed in June.
Lancaster Canal: Bridge 32, Swillbrook Bridge
TOWPATH CLOSURE (Tuesday 3 January 2017 until further notice) The towpath is currently closed at bridge 32 (Swillbrook Bridge) on the Lancaster Canal following a vehicle strike. The strike has resulted in some loose coping stones. We are in the process of assessing the site to ensure that the stones are stable before re-opening the towpath.
River Soar: Friars Mill Visitor Moorings
RESTRICTION (Thursday 22 December 2016 until further notice) The downstream end of the visitor moorings are closed due to a damaged adjacent third party wall.
Please only use the upstream end of the moorings.
Regent’s Canal: Bridge 50 (Railway)
ADVICE (12noon Friday 9 December 2016 until further notice) A section of wall on the offside of the Regent’s Canal west of Bridge 50 (Railway) near Broadway Market is at risk of falling into the canal. Urgent repairs are being planned by the highway authority. All boaters are asked to take care and keep to the towpath side.
Trent & Mersey Canal: Bridge 38, Barton Turn Bridge
TOWPATH CLOSURE (Wednesday 7 December 2016 until further notice) The towpath underneath Bridge 38 is currently closed due to running water causing potential hazards. There is a small diversion in place which takes you over the bridge.
Repair works are scheduled for 2017.
River Soar: Meadow Farm Marina Online – L6 Mooring Ends At: Bridge 28, Mill Lane
RESTRICTION (Tuesday 6 December 2016 until further notice) Please be advised the previously reported sunken craft outside of Meadows Farm Marina has come adrift in the recent floods and its marked buoys detached.
Please proceed with caution between Meadow Farm Marina & Barrow – Bridge 28.
CRT are currently checking the navigable channel.

Trent & Mersey Canal: Lock 5, Swarkestone Lock
ADVICE (Thursday 1 December 2016 until further notice) Boaters are asked to proceed with care as a boat has sunk below Swarkestone Lock. CRT are working to move the boat as quickly as possible.
Aylesbury Arm (Grand Union Canal): Bridge 16
Update on 01/12/2016: CRT have received reports that the towpath erosion is causing some obstructions on the navigation.
Please be aware that they would recommend that that any boats with a 2′ 6″ deep draft avoid navigating through the immediate area.
CRT are arranging for the obstruction to be removed from the canal early next week.
