LATEST NEWS: MACCLESFIELD Town will host this Saturday's (February 4) FA Trophy third round tie between Northwich Victoria and Hampton & Richmond Borough. Kick-off 3pm

Following news last week of its ‘eviction’, Northwich Victoria FC played its home game last Saturday (January 28) at the Victoria Stadium alongside the Trent & Mersey Canal.

Canalside football club may face move

The club, which is currently lying third in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League, were issued with a notice to vacate the ground last week pending its sale to chemical manufacturers, Thor Specialities (UK) Ltd.

Plans had been mooted last spring for a 49-berth marina on the nine-acre site.
