A rare chance to see London in 3D
By: London Canal Museum
MANY people wearing glasses with blue and red lenses are expected to be found in the King’s Cross area between February and May.
They will be at the London Canal Museum, where techniques usually associated with the latest movie technologies will be used to show London in a brand-new, dimensionally different light.

Professional travel photographer Ethel Davies has spent the past two years shooting 3D images of the many landmarks along the canal. She has amassed a unique collection of images of Camden Town, narrowboats along the canal and the rich foliage on the canal’s banks.
Now her exhibition: “The Regent’s Canal in 3D – a dimensionally different view” is coming to the London Canal Museum.
Four large 3D images will dominate a wall of the museum, supplemented by 24 smaller images. Visitors will be able to learn about the techniques employed to create the exhibition, while wearing 3D glasses provided by the museum during their visit.
Chair of the London Canal Museum Martin Sach said:
“This will be an exhibition of truly stunning 3D images. Depicting both the historical industrial archaeology and the intimate charm of the waterways, her images have been enhanced by the extra dimension. I can’t wait to see them in the museum.”
The exhibition runs from 14 February-27 May 2012.
