BURTON-based diesel injection firm Key Diesels has been appointed engine supplier and repairer for Daventry narrowboat broker Whilton Marina and its Nantwich counterpart, Venetian Marina, in a deal that will see it providing remanufactured and refurbished units to sales teams selling over 250 boats a year.
Both marinas are also offering two months free River Canal Rescue breakdown and recovery membership with every boat sold.
Key Diesels was chosen by the marinas as their preferred supplier of re-built engines after they became frustrated at the lack of reliable specialists on the waterways. Free short-term RCR cover is being offered as an additional perk for new owners.
River Canal Rescue acquired Key Diesels in 2014 and since then has built its reputation for excellence. Managing Director, Stephanie Horton, comments: “We’re thrilled to be working in partnership with Whilton and Venetian Marinas; they were looking for a company they could trust to support the ongoing refurbishment of customers’ boats and we were looking to develop our business-to-business relationships in this area. It’s a win, win scenario for all involved.
“We’re equally delighted to provide peace of mind for people buying boats through them; it gives new owners additional confidence that should something happen, they have someone they can call to help get them moving.”
Whilton Marina’s workshop manager, Mathew Emery, agrees: “We started using Key Diesels in 2016 and after a recent visit to their operation early this year, decided the firm would be our preferred supplier. We look forward to a long and beneficial relationship that delivers unrivalled after-sales service to our customers.”
